Bringing Food Education to Life at Abbots Farm Junior School

Pupils at Abbots Farm Junior School recently took part in a hands-on pizza-making workshop led by Stir  Food chef Ulisse Di Benedetto, giving children the opportunity to learn practical cooking skills while  exploring healthy eating and food education.

During the session, pupils prepared pizza dough from scratch, selected toppings, and learned more about  ingredients and where food comes from. The workshop was designed to encourage positive  relationships with food and build confidence in the kitchen through interactive learning.

Chef Ulisse Di Benedetto said:

“The children were so engaged and keen to learn. It’s important that young people develop  a healthy relationship with food and understand where ingredients come from. We all had  such a good time.”

The workshop forms part of Stir Food’s wider commitment to food education across the schools it  supports throughout the UK.

Gemma Webb, Headteacher at Abbots Farm Junior School, added:

“Chef Uli made us smile all day with his pizza workshop and really helped the children  understand why healthy eating is important, as well as the importance of having the right  skills and knowledge when it comes to food.”
